Subscribers can now stream Netflix in Hindi language in India on mobile, web and TV

Netflix introduced its User Interface (UI) for those who prefer the language in Hindi. The goal behind the new UI, as Netflix puts it, is to help users easily "discover, access and enjoy their favorite Indian and international movies and series."

This allows Netflix members who prefer Hindi language to access the entire Hindi OTT platform — from the sign up process to the search bar, collections and payment. The Hindi user interface is accessible on the smartphone, TV, and web across all platforms.

Users who wish to move to the Hindi UI can do so by navigating to Profiles Management > Language on any device. Netflix allows a single account to up to five members. All five members can have their own preferred language. The Hindi UI is now being made available to users outside India.

Monika Shergill, VP-Content, Netflix India said in a statement, "To achieve a great Netflix experience is just as crucial to us as to create great content. We believe that the new user interface will make Netflix even more accessible and better suited to members who prefer Hindi."
It is significant to observe that although Netflix was launched in India in 2016, the availability of the UI language in Hindi came about in 2020. Throughout the years it had extended its UI to more than 20 languages including Arabic, Korean, Spanish, Turkish etc.

Netflix India recently confirmed 17 originals some of which have already been launched and some are expected to premiere in the coming months on the streaming platform.

The most pocket-friendly plan for Netflix is the mobile plan which starts from Rs 199. It is also testing a plan called the Mobile+ plan at Rs 349 which is an upgraded version of the Mobile plan. Probably this plan will come with added benefits at Rs 349. High definition (HD) streaming is one of the above.

The Mobile+ subscription also enables users to view content on three devices , such as phones, computers , and tablets. In the regular Rs 199 mobile plan, users could only watch shows on their smartphones or tablets. The Mobile+ subscription would be used to connect the laptops and computers. Nevertheless, Netflix will only roll out the plan in the long term if members like the additional choice this offer brings.

Last week, some Android users had playback controls added by Netflix. Netflix would allow its customers to stream at either 0.5x or 0.75x for slowed-down streaming, or at 1.25x or 1.5x for faster streaming, The Verge reported. The feature will first roll out in the US and slowly to be extended to other in the countries.

Keela Robison, vice president of product innovation at Netflix said, "Members have been asking for the feature a lot, for years. Most importantly, our tests shows that customers value the flexibility it provides, whether it is rewatching their favorite scene or slowing down things because they are watching with subtitles or have difficulty hearing.
